Frank Robinson
Member of the Baseball Hall of Fame
The only man to win the M.V.P. in both leagues, Robinson was a 11 time all-star (1957, '59, '61, '62, '65, '66, '69-'71, '74). He was M.V.P. in 1961 leading the Cincinnati Reds tom the pennant while he hit .323 ith 37 homers and 124 R.B.I. He was traded to the Baltimore Orioles in 1966 and promptly won the M.V.P. and the triple crown with a .316 average, 49 homers and 122 R.B.I., the only time he led the league in anyn of these catagories. He helped the Orioles win the World Series in 1966 and '70. In 1974, Robinson became the first black manager in baseball for the Cleveland Indians. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1982 and finished his career with 586 homers, 1,812 R.B.I. and 2,943 hits.
