1972 World Series M.V.P.
Tenace played for the Oakland A's (1969-'76), San Diego Padres (1977-'80), St. Louis Cardinals (1981-'82) and Pittsburgh Pirates (1983). Tenace surprised many by leading the A's to the World Series championship in 1972, winning the Series M.V.P. He was an All-Star in 1975 and led the league in walks in 1974 and '78. Tenace won three World Series with the A's and one with the Cardinals. He had a lifetime batting average of .241 with 201 home runs.
