Joe Torre
1971 National League M.V.P.
An eight time N.L. All-Star (1963-'67, '70-'73) Torre will undoubtedly go into
the Hall of Fame as the manager of the New York Yankees, winning the World Series
in 1996, '98-'00. He was a member of the Braves, Cardinals and Mets in his career
and he won the N.L. M.V.P. in 1971 with the Cardinals when he hit .363 with 137 R.B.I.,
leading the league in both categories as well as total bases and hits. Torre finished
his 18 year career with a .297 batting average, 2,342 htis and 252 home runs. He
later managed the Mets, Braves, Cardinals and Yankees.
