Mike Webster
Member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame
Drafted in the fifth round in 1974 out of Wisconsin, Webster played from 1974-'88
for the Pittsburgh Steelers and 1989-'90 for the Kansas City Chiefs. Webster played
in the Pro Bowl in 1979-'86, '88. Webster’s teammates claimed him to be the strongest
player on the team. He was 225-pound rookie and used the club's weight program to
build to his 255-pound playing weight. following the 1979 season, Webster the won
NFL Strongman competition. A Steelers’ captain for nine seasons, he played in four
Super Bowls and six AFC championship games. He was All Pro for six straight years,
All AFC five times and played in nine Pro Bowls. Webster was elected to the Hall
of Fame in 1997.
