Dennis Winston

N.F.L. linebacker

Winston was selected in the fourth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers, played 11 seasons, from 1977 to 1987, at linebacker winning two Super Bowls. After playing in just four games his rookie season with the Steelers, Winston started in both Pittsburgh Steeler Super Bowl victories, one against the Los Angeles Rams in 1978 and the other against the Dallas Cowboys, 1979. After the 1982 season, Winston was traded to the New Orleans Saints, where he played three seasons, 1982 - 1985. While with the Saints, he participated in the Saint’s first Monday Night Football game, which was won by the result of Winston returning a interception for the winning touchdown. In 1985, he was traded back the Steelers and played two season, 1985 to 1987.
