2003 BRITISH SUPERSTARS FINAL

After four preliminary heats, eight athletes had advanced to the Superstars Final. With the two 400 meter runners, Du'aine Ladejo and Jamie Baulch, entered in the 100 meters it became a race for third place among the other Superstars. Ladejo edged Baulch by 0.01 second with Tony Underwood coming in third but suffering from a hamstring injury. Soccer's Steve Claridge won the tennis event and then easily won the 800 meter run to move into first place overall. Underwood put himself back into contention by winning the archery with a new record score of 46.

The decisive event proved to be the swimming as Baulch set a new British Superstars record of 27.97 with Ladejo in second. Baulch made it two victories in a row with 3 goals in the soccer event. Graham Bell put himself back in the mix with a win in the kayak. Ladejo also advanced to the kayak final as only 0.18 seconds separated second place from fifth. With two events remaining, Ladejo needed just a third place finish in the gym tests to secure the Superstars championship.

In the gym tests, Ladejo did just as he needed to wrap up the overall title. Alain Baxter won the gym tests, and then also won the mountain bike to secure second place overall.
