1979 MEN'S FINAL
In one of the best competitions ever, Greg Pruitt and Wayne Grimditch reversed their one-two finish from 1978. Four men had a chance to win entering the obstacle course, Pruitt steered clear of penalties and wrapped it up when Dwight Stones knocked over the high bar. Even without the penalty, Pruitt would have won. Records were set by Bill Buckner in bowling (both single game and two-game total), Jim Taylor in rowing and Lynn Swann in the obstacle course. So high was the level of competition that eight different athletes won events and only John Havlicek did not have at least a second place finish.
