1989 MEN'S FINAL
Los Angeles Raiders wide receiver Willie Gault, in his fourth trip to the Superstars final, captured his first title be edgeing two-time defending champion, Herschel Walker of the Dallas Cowboys. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Dave Krieg surprised many by winning three events and finishing third. John L. Williams, also of the Seahawks, had won the second preliminary but withdrew from the competition after two events with injury. Willie Gault became seventh athlete to exceed $100,000 in career Superstars earnings.
