1993 MEN'S FINAL

Decathlete Dave Johnson showed great consitency by finishing in the top three in each of his 5 events to become the 21st Superstars champion. He outdistanced Buffal Bill wide receiver Andre Reed and Olympic volleyball champion Steve Timmons. Timmons had taken an early lead with decisive victories in swimming and kayaking, but he finished last in basketball and cycling. Defending champion Mike Powell was shut out of the points in the kayaking, hurting his chances at repeating. Herschel Walker struggled early and veered off course in the bike race, costing him a chance at the championship. Powell outduelled Walker in a 100 yard dash showdown and set a Superstars record of 9.22 seconds, despite a heavy tail wind, Superstars makes no accomidations for wind-aided records. Johnson won the obstacle course to secure victory.
