THE GREATEST WORLD CUP GOALS

BREITNER - 1974 WORLD CUP

SCORER: Paul Breitner
MATCH: West Germany vs. Chile
TIME: June 14, 1974
PLACE: Olympia Stadion, Berlin

DESCRIPTION:  Breitner wandered upfield from his wing-back position.  He received the ball from a colleague and from almost 35 yards, he smashed the ball into the goalkeeper's top right-hand corner.

Perhaps the greatest long-range strike in World Cup history.
