Canada

The introduction of bandy into the U.S. in the 1980's also spilled over into Canada where a bandy progam started in 1986. As in the U.S., the geographical spread of bandy is limited and bandy is solely played in Manitoba (Winnipeg, Flin Flon, St. Boniface). The Canadian national team made their debut in the World Championships in 1991 and have participated in 4 World Championships (1991, 1993, 1995 and 1997). Bandy in Canada is not as strong as in the U.S. and the national team has not yet finished ahead of the U.S. in the World Championships, but they consistently beat The Netherlands and Hungary.
