- Radio drama in the United States was killed by the advent of television (It still flourishes in other countries). There are a very few organizations that still perform original live radio drama. [Organizations that recreate past radio drama exist and will be listed in OLD TIME RADIO.

- Radio drama in the United States was killed by the advent of television (It still flourishes in other countries). During its hey-day, radio had dozens of mystery and detective programs. Many of them were converted to television programs. Radio is 'The Theatre of the Mind,' and is undeservedly ignored.

- Here we compile all of today's North American radio stations which play Old Time Radio (or new radio drama, if such exists). Ah for England, where the Radio Times keeps everyone up to date on television as well as radio drama. There is a page kept by the University of Pennsylvania which lists stations, but we don't like their format [they don't list days or times.]. However, it is here..

Rathbone, Basil

(Actor)
- born Philip St. John Basil Rathbone on 13 June, 1892 in Johannesburg, South Africa and died on 21 July 1967 of a heart attack. One son, Rodion, one adopted daughter. Most famous as Sherlock Holmes in the Universal and Fox film series.
