Abusive Takeovers\Lawsuits Need Formal Antitrust Review To Assure Healthy Competitive Million Solar Roofs Program
Million Solar Rooftops In USA and EC 1,000,000 PV Rooftops By 2010 Programs represent $5-20 billion global BI-PV commerce. Solarex provided 35% of PV production in US until BP Solar takeover. Excellent for peak demand due to air conditioning! Foreign interests must be scrutinized for massive suppression of important clean energy industry. When I asked President of Marketing at BP Solar if they were planning to include Solarex in their AMOCO takeover, he replied, "Oh, yes! We don't like to share!" Not a good philosophy for mainstream deployment!
This discourages American entrepreneurs and communities not wanting to risk threat of abusive lawsuits by oil cartels. Chicago Tribune article of Jan 19, 1998 quoted Harvey Forest, Pres. of Solarex as saying there are no solar energy leaders in the United States. What the article didn't articulate were the facts of BP/Enron/AMOCO’s hand in suppressing BI-PV using Solarex to transfer American ingenuity to foreign ownership.
Political clamor is used to confuse the message of anyone questioning these antitrust facts. While most everyone heard about President Reagan taking the Carter’s PV system off Whitehouse, and cutting PV tax credits, we have heard no murmurs from either party about the beautiful/successful 300 kWp PV roof Intercultural Center installed in 1984 at President Clinton's Alma Mater Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Why? A focus on this wonderful success in BI-PV would be a far more powerful an influence to further American interests than just another complaint of failure. Series of controlling lawsuits brought by Enron-Amoco using Solarex patents need to be investigated to determine to what extent Antitrust behavior is suppressing BI-PV and determine how these abuses of fair trade laws by Multinational conglomerates through intimidation suppress opportunity restraining healthy BI-PV industry growth, globally.
This is especially important/necessary where BI-PV technology will dramatically reduce pollution, environmental degradation, related deaths, crime and illness from second-hand smoke of fossil/nuclear/large hydro generation, and may significantly reduce war on a global basis. Accelerated production of silicon BI-PV is an issue of national security, global health and safety as well as economic stability! Antitrust must be reprimanded to cure companies from forcing dirty fuel addictions. We may then see amazing positive transformations in integrity of global politics.
