Printers can be damaged easily, and once they are damaged, it is difficult to repair them. In some cases, it may be more cost-effective to replace the printer after a problem. For some reason, people are rarely taught about the proper care for printers, and they don't take them seriously.
Here are some issues that should be helpful:
Some printers have a separate transformer. If so, be sure to place it on a non-flammable hard surface and don't cover it.
Laser printers require special paper and ink. The paper must say that it is made for laser printers.
Letterhead or other printing on your paper should be checked before putting it through the printer. It must be made for your kind of printer.
Laser paper should not be put through the printer twice
Double-sided printing on laser printers should only be done in a single pass. Your computer program may be able to help you do this.
