A spare computer that is allowed to sit without being used will develop problems, just as any appliance or mechanical device will not work well if it is not used on a regular basis.
Thus, it is wise for you to use that computer for your work periodically instead of your primary computer. Be sure to copy the files that you created that day to the main computer, in order to avoid problems.
You may want to place your new computer in a new location, as a refreshing change to your work area. In that case, the spare computer offers an additional advantage. You are now assured that the location of the secondary computer is adequate and comfortable, and that the lighting matches your taste. This offers the advantage of being able to continue your work without interruptions or problems.
