There are alternatives to schooling
Although the arguments for schooling at any age do have merit, some children can do better in alternative settings, venues, or arrangements.
Those changes come at a price. The school does offer a venue for socialization with the child's peers.
For many children this is useful and helpful. For others, it may be possible to socialize at work together with other peers who are in similar situations. Work - or another out-of-school setting - may be just as effective as school.
Each child should be evaluated for an individual solution - חנוך לילד על פי דרכו - chanoch layeled al pi darco. That is the Jewish way.
We can thus reach several conclusions:
School should not be limited, like a one-size-fits-all bed in Sodom - a mitat sdom. We have a responsibility as adults and leaders to change the system so that children will not be punished for being kids.
