There are many cases in which men are taught separately from women, especially in religiously observed classes. This article will deal with adults from the high schools grades, and specifically the upper high school grades and college level as well.
It's no surprise that men have to be taught in a different manner than women. With men it's very important to keep pushing in the information fast. Any break or any lag in teaching, any pause means that the teacher is going to lose the class. You have to keep on hitting them with it. As long as you're hitting them with it they can keep going for a reasonable amount of time and as they keep on going they will absorb the material and they'll absorb it much faster than women. When you have a need for a pause, make sure that it's clear that this is an official break and that they're not going to expect any teaching because they deal with two items differently:
They learn fast and they absorb things fast and they forget things fast. When they have difficulty sitting then they might get wild, in which case don't try to teach the class while they are wild. It's not going to help. There is no need to yell or shout at the students. They can accept a kind reprimand. They also appreciate a pat on the back or a handshake or any other kind of attention that shows that you're on their side.
However, don't get too much on their side. Forget the concept of being a buddy. You aren't their buddy and if they get to be too friendly then you're again going to lose them. That might be good for the last one or two classes in which case you can loosen up with them and you can be like their buddy. It might also be good during an official time or a break in which case you can play ball with them or do other sports or any other thing to show that you're human, but that should be outside of the classroom setting. While they're in a class they should understand that a class is a class and they gotta study and that you have your distance from them and they can't act out. After class it is possible to put on a different persona.
