A better idea would be for students to be involved in the decision making process. This would force the administration to think about why they're giving the courses that they are giving and to make sure that they show a complete series and a whole for the students. The students themselves will understand why they are taking the courses that they are taking under the proposed system and they will ask questions about why they have to take certain courses and maybe even be able to recommend alternative courses. In this way the students will force the administration to think about the entire big picture, the gestalt, and they themselves will also understand what they are working towards throughout their studies.

Each year the students should have the option and ability or even be required to discuss what they have studied so far and to make sure that they understand how the things that they have studied so far fit in with their professional goal and see that they are leading towards an understanding of the entire professional goal.

They have the right to be able to know that when they graduate they will be able to have a well rounded and balanced view of the issues that relate to their own profession. Only by accountability can this happen. When the students are able to ask the administration why they are getting what they are getting and if they do not feel that it is leading towards professional goal and the administration cannot prove that the courses that they are taught are relevant to their needs, then the students should be able to demand courses that are more relevant to their profession so that when they graduate they will be able to go into the job market with a well-rounded education and an understanding of how all of these courses have come together in order to be able to form a unified gestalt and they should see the reason for every course that they have taken and how it fits into this gestalt.
