How to teach
Upbeat

It doesn't really matter what you teach. One aspect seems to be crucial no matter what you teach in any course whatsoever and it is one important factor in determining your success.

Whether you are upbeat.

A teacher who comes into the class and seems not to care about things or is frustrated, disappointed, in a bad mood, or anything else, cannot be as successful as one who is upbeat.

There are various factors in creating an upbeat atmosphere.

1. The principal of the school can set the right tone and he can give the teacher a positive feeling or a negative feeling. That is the single most crucial aspect of teaching and that is probably the single most important thing that a principal can do in the school vis-a-vis his teachers. He can encourage them to be upbeat about their teaching.

Previous success in teaching

A teacher who is successful, who continues to be successful because he will feel upbeat about the work. One who has failures will not be upbeat about it.

The students. If the students are upbeat about the class - and the teacher and the principal certainly have an important impact on this - then the teacher will also be upbeat. If the students or the environment are negative, then it will affect the teacher and it will affect the teaching.
