In previous generations some students in some classes were taught study skills. They were taught how to go about studying, how to prepare for classroom, homework, tests, generally everything that they needed to learn in order to succeed in school.
For some reason in recent years this has been abandoned and students are expected to fend for themselves.
The fact is that some miraculously do survive, but many others don't.
That's a shame because these children are lost and it's not because they are inadequate or less good than others. It's just because they are groping and they don't know how to go about their studies. If they were just trained how to do it, then they would succeed. And with a feeling of success they would also do well.
So the purpose of this section is to discuss some of the study skills that are sorely needed in our generation and to recommend that they be reinstituted in the schools.
Implementation of these recommendations will mean a better educated generation in the future.
