Perhaps the most important element that is required in order to succeed in the educational system is to have sufficient sleep. Well, that might be combined with good habits of nutrition as well.
A student who comes to class without having sufficient sleep is not going to be able to function in class. The student may sit quietly, stare at the teacher, and take notes, but the information really does not penetrate unless the person is sufficiently rested.
And the goal of course is for information to penetrate the student's mind, which means that this sleep is indeed important. It is necessary so that the student understands what is being said and can ask good questions if the student doesn't understand. It also removes the frustration with difficult material. A great deal of the difficult material can suddenly become easy if the student is rested.
This might mean that the student has to sacrifice certain things that are done late at night so that the student will take care of the primary objective which is getting the right education. It is important that the student understands the priority of this good education.
