People mature at different rates in different cultures.

An affluent culture does not help a child mature. A child who is given everything that he asks for does not understand the importance of anything. A child without limits does not understand what he can or cannot do.

Some parents feel that it is a good idea to let children remain children as long as possible, while others encourage children to mature physically and emotionally as soon as possible.
