How do you know that you are ready for motherhood? Is there a readiness test?
Not necessarily, but you certainly do grow into the position. You learn how to be a mother on the job.
The issue is not whether you are ready. You aren't ready, until you have children. In most cases, parents do the right thing on instinct. Others who need help take courses or read books about motherhood and parenthood.
A more crucial factor seems to be the support that you get from your peers and from other mothers.
All too often, they criticize the way that you raise your children. They try to show that they know how to raise children in a better way.
The confidence that you exhibit when raising your child affects your abilities. Thus, if you are surrounded by criticism, then you are likely to fulfill the bad parenting procedures of which you are accused.
On the other hand, if you are surrounded by encouragement, you will probably live up to good standards of motherhood, and you will be a good mother.
