What is the purpose of this website?
Many psychology websites and textbooks discuss case studies or research findings. Others explain to psychologists how to act or what pitfalls to avoid.
Other lay articles have been written for the general public. They speak to people who have questions or problems, but they don't necessarily discuss the issues that people might want to clarify.
This series of articles seeks to bridge the gap for this audience.
This audience could be either professionals or lay people. It discusses real issues from a practical point of view yet it can be understood and appreciated by profesional psychologists and psychiatrists as well as the general public.
These articles generally avoid professional jargon. Where this is unavoidable, such as locus of control, the term is explained thoroughly.
In other cases, professional jargon is intentionally mutilated. In the case of problem solving, the term was reversed to read solving problems - a more natural way of dealing with the issue.
