וכל בניך In Limudei Hashem, a Jerusalem school for the retarded, children strive to reach their highest possible level in their Jewish studies despite their limitations.
That school may represent our generation. These people study about G-d - Limudei Hashem - despite their level of retardation.
A closer look at the original source for that phrase tells us that in the future, vechol banayich – and all of Your sons – will be Limudei Hashem, will have studied about G-d.
Perhaps this phrase can be understood in the context of the school. Perhaps in the future, Vechol banayich Limudei Hashem. "all of Your children will have to attend the Limudei Hashem institution."
This certainly seems to be the trend. The generation is becoming weaker and weaker in its skills, behavior, knowledge, and in its strength and ability to withstand the growing number of difficulties that we face.
I once heard a vort - and I regret that I don't recall the source. The speaker explained that - contrary to the current philosophy - the advent of computers proves that we are weaker than our predecessors.
In the past, people got along just fine without requiring computers. Today's generation is lost if there is a power failure. We cannot even add without a calculator.
That's not a good sign.
We used to be independent. Now we are powerless without a computer. It controls our lives, and it has replaced our brains as the storehouse of our information.
Is that progress?
