Most people like to get tsumi. They like to get attention.
The word tsumi comes from the first letters of two Hebrew words, tsumet lev, the Hebrew words for attention. Tsumi is a cutesie way of saying it. It is usually reserved for the kind of negative attention demanded by some people. Natural and positive attention is generally called by the more formal term, tsumet lev.
English does not make a distinction between the two ways of getting attention.
