Dear T,
The use of medication to stimulate healthy egg production is acceptable. The Catechism specifically encourages "research aimed at reducing human sterility." (#2375) In the following paragraph it explains why artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, etc. are against Jesus' teaching. The only caution I know of regarding drugs to stimulate egg production is that sometimes several ova can be produced and if fertilized there is sometimes pressure from doctors to remove (destroy) some of the embryoes in order to give one or two a better chance of survival. You have to be sure your doctor recognizes the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception.
And don't forget prayer - especially the intercession of St. Anthony. His feast day is today. My prayers for you and your husband that God will bless you with the beautiful gift of children.
God bless,
Fr. Phil Bloom
P.S. Congratulations on the vasectomy reversal. You did the right thing.

Thank you very much for such a quick and thoughtful reponse. I am glad that medication is acceptable, and both my husband and I will respect however many embryoes (i.e. children) God gives us. Thank you for creating and maintaining this web site. I will bookmark it and use it for future reference.
God Bless,

p.s. I'll pray to St. Anthony today and in the future :)
