I would appreciate your help, in finding information regarding the Vatican policy on Gay Issues. I work with and for an organization who help the parents and families of gay young people, who find it difficult to come to terms with their offspring's sexuality. One of the many questions asked by parents is ,How the church stands on the issue of Homosexuality?. I feel that I really do need some constructive advice, on the feeling of the holy see on these issues, as I need to answer these questions truthfully and without prejudice, I you could help with some email addresses of those within the church who work on gender issues I would be grateful.

Thanks for your question. And good to hear about your work. Also I appreciate the fact that you do not seem to have pre-judged the Church's teaching on this very difficult issue. The Catechism has a very concise statement (paragraphs 2357 to 2359). It refers back a previous statement from the Congregation on Doctrine and Faith called Persona Humana. I recommend them as starting points. I do not have any e-mail addresses for you, but I have noticed a number of websites that present and explain the Catholic teaching. And of course a greater number which attack it. By using the Links on my home page you should be able to quickly surf to those sites. Let me know what you come up with, Ann.
