How fast is the world population growing? Why is this a problem? What other environmental problems are affectedby rapid population growth? What are some possible solutions? Would you say that better health care increases the population problem? (I am supposed to get various people's opinions on that question)
Thank you very much for your time. I hope you can help me. God Bless You!

Dear Audra,
Thanks for the e-mail. I give a perspective on the questions you ask in my article on overpopulation. It has links to a few other articles & sites which would give more specific answers. Let me know what you think.
On your last question I understand that better health care (especially basic hygiene) increases population in the short term because more babies survive infancy and people live longer, but in the long run actually brings it down because overall security & comfort leads people to have less children. (I'm an advocate for somewhat larger families than we are having now in the U.S. as you will see from my articles).
Additional questions would be: Which countries will have less people in 2050? And why? How much is population growth slowing down each year?
Good luck & God bless,
Fr. Phil Bloom
