God has been so good to us. He has blessed us with a wonderful church family, wonderful friends, a beautiful house to live in with relatives right next door and good health.

When Murray (my husband) passed away I did not think that I could go on. In over 16 years of marriage we had never spent a night apart. We were together with the kids always and I did not think I could go anywhere with my six kids alone. Not only that but Murray did all the driving so I rarely drove the car.

Six days after his death, before the funeral, I felt that I needed to be in church. The kids and I were staying with Murray's sister in Las Vegas, Nevada. Early Sunday morning I looked in the phone book for a church. God led me to Mountain View Baptist Church. Pastor Postma and his wife and children were a huge blessing to us.

After a month we moved back home to Kingman, Arizona. God sent us some friends from Washington to help us sell things and prepare to move. I consider these friends to be "closer than a brother". They gave up their jobs and left their home and stayed with us for four months while we sold everything we could and packed up.

We continued attending Mountain View Baptist Church even though it was a two and a half hour drive each way. I discovered that Mountain View Baptist Church was supported by the church my friends attended in Washington, Evergreen Baptist Church. God was in it the whole way.

When we were leaving for Washington I went through many trials and hardships along the way that made me wonder if I was in God's will. After we arrived in Washington we started unloading everything into storage and I started looking for a place to stay. After checking everywhere including an abuse shelter and rescue mission I could not find a place to stay that could house seven of us. I called my sister-in-law and she and her husband very graciously opened their home to us for as long as we needed.

The one thing that I wanted was my own home. I had some money for a down payment and that is what I was looking for. I discovered that I could not purchase a home and finally realized that I was "laying up treasure" here on earth. When I confessed it to God and allowed Him to have His way, He opened the door for us to live in a beautiful home next door to my sister-in-law. This is just one way He has blessed us.

He has blessed us with a very nice mini van that easily seats all of us. The children and I have started to sing specials at church which was always a dream of my husband's. I never could imagine it, but here we are! God certainly takes care of the widows and fatherless.

I could never thank Him enough for what He has done for us but I try to serve Him the best way I know how. The children and I are faithful to attend church as well as being involved in most every ministry that is available.

When my husband passed away I questioned why God would take my husband away when my "job" was to be a helpmeet to him. God showed me that my new "job" is to make sure that our children are brought up loving and serving Him. That is why I continue to homeschool all six of them although I have to admit it is NOT an easy thing to do. I hope this testimony is helpful to someone some day.
