Landmark Baptist churches are usually very theologically conservative and are defined by their belief that the Church founded in the New Testament was Baptist, and since that time Baptist churches have always existed (although they have not always used the name Baptist).
Since they beleive Baptist churches have always existed they do not see the need for the Protestant Reformation (since the true gospel was already being preached through these Baptist Churches).
While they believe that their are many true Christians belonging to other so-called "churches" they believe that the only true churches are Baptist, and all others are just man-made organizations. They also believe many churches using the name Baptist are not true churches for a variety of reasons (i.e. their willingness to work with a variety of different denominations, their denial of certain essential Christian doctrines, etc.)
While the majority of Landmark Churches do not hold to the Doctrine of Grace there is a sizable minority which are staunch proponents of this scriptural truth.
