We have a new member of our cat family, he looks like he is a Maine Coon. He is the sweetest male I have ever had. He was a stray, he was sitting under one our trees in the rain, we could'nt leave him like that. He has made himselve at home here, he loves to follow me everywhere and curl up around my feet. Even if he isn't purebred, we would'nt trade him for anything. If I ever buy a cat, it will be a Maine Coon.

I found your site very interesting. I rescued a 6 month old kitten that no one wanted and was going to be put down and he turned out to be part main coon. We adopted ( or should I say- we were adopted by) a male cat about 21/2 years ago. My husband noticed a book today at the book store about Maine Coon cats and on the cover was our "Buddy". I went to the Maine Coon web site and started reading about the breed and realized our Buddy was definately a Maine Coon! He fits the breed profile to a tee. Well I have just spent a couple of hours (it didn't seem that long) entranced in your web site. I just adore cats and have 3 beautiful moggies of my own. I really enjoyed reading the stories as I can relate to many of them and if not from personal exper ence can just imagine things like that occurring. What a wonderfull site! I own a classic tabby with white (or rather, he owns me). I first came across the Coons on the Internet, and couldn't sleep untill I had one of my own. I've taken him to one show so far, but as I hadn't powdered him enough (I like he clean, fluffy but still natural look instead of the Persian/Poodle powderpuff look which is now the rage in Holland) the judge wouldn't look at him. She told me he had real potential, but that I should use industrial strength paint stripper or somethin . As if... Your cats all looked great and natural, so I know hairspray and curlers aren't necessary! Tip: If you want your Maine Coon to give the impression of being sweet and not destructive, get a Somali. By contrast, the Coon will seem to be an angel:~)No, I do love both breeds, and my black-silver Somali and my Coon are thick as thieves. There isn't better sight in the world then the two of them sleeping piled on top of each other! I had a great time on your site. Thank you!

My wife and I may be looking for a Maine Coon at about the time your Jan. 1 litter is ready for sale. We adopted (I humored my wife on this one) a cat from the Humane Society and unfortunately discovered after a couple of months that Nika has diabetes. We ve had her for a couple of months but she never looks very good and we are now giving her 2 shots per day and will have to for the rest of her life. I'm not confident of her chances of making it and we may have to make a tough decision pretty soon. At any rate, if we have to have her put to rest we'll give you a call in the hopes that you'll have a cat available. We both love cats but I really want my wife to have a companion when I'm at work. Thanks, with your great site you've confirmed my belief that the greatest cat I've ever had let me share the life is some goodly portion Maine coon. He's got the telltale tail (looks like something on someone's head in Daniel Boone), and size - pushing 1 lbs at 9 months, though he's perhaps 50% white and the rest a beautiful tan & black tabby. We rescued him from the local shelter when he was 8 wks. old. Even when he protested a litter box not up to snuff by peeing on me in my sleep, I've never regrett d it. Miss one daily cleaning ... boy did he teach me !
