MY DALE MURPHY PAGE
Here is a page dedicated to the man who inspired Mommy to name me "Murphy". Dale Murphy played for the Atlanta Braves from 1976-1990. He was a terrific role model for Mommy and other kids growing up in Atlanta, Georgia. Mommy said it was very sad in Atlanta the day that Dale was traded. She even cried! :-( He retired from baseball in 1993 after playing for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Colorado Rockies. After that, he has had his number 3 retired by the Braves and is now awaiting his induction into Baseball's Hall of Fame. He is eligible for election in 1999, but Mommy seems to think that it won't be for another 3-5 years. He is still one of the most respected baseball players in baseball history. Since he retired before I was even born, Mommy has shown me pictures and videos of Dale. She even has a picture of him displayed in our apartment! He is a very special man and I feel honored to be named after him.
