I figured the best way to learn how to build a web page is to actually do it. These are some of the sites I've found helpful. From the basics to promotion, you can find it here!

If you are a beginner, start with these links

Helpful Sites for HTML Code
HTML for Beginners HTML Goodies
The HOME PAGE home page Barebones HTML

Nice graphics sure do spice up a page! You will have to do some searching to find the right graphics, but it is worth it.

Graphics
Moyra's Web Jewels Jane's Graphics HeeYun's Collection Rita
Andy's Art Attack Bimsan Widow's Web Quietsiren
The Graphics Ring Digital Divas Cool Graphics The Logo Collective

If you want people other than your family and friends to visit your site, you MUST register with a search engine. There are a large number of them, and I would definitely start with Submit Plus, Submit-It and Easy-Submit. They will help you with some of the most common, then you can work on the less well known.

Improving your web site

Don't just slap your site together! You can double check your site with Site Inspector (for free!). I highly recommend Gif Wizard for compressing your images and making your page load faster because no one likes to wait! Don't forget to stop by the Link Exchange for more publicity (for free!) and even a counter.
