George Brimer was born in Gaston County where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in Company H. He enlisted on October 6, 1861, at the age of 27. He died in a hospital in Richmond, Virginia, on August 15, 1862, of typhoid fever. Private Brimer is buried in the Oak Wood Military Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.
