Hi!
My name is Jodi, and this is my Place on the Web!! Kick off your shoes and come on in!!
I am married to a GREAT guy named Greg, it took me 30 years to find him so there is hope ladies!!! (o: We have 4 beautiful children!
Greg was a Sailor in the U.S. Navy...
He got out of the Navy on Father's Day 1999 after serving 10 years! I married Greg when he was already in the Navy, so this is all new to us! Just another life's journey!
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL (WooHoo!!! Go CUBBIES!!!)! I left my home town, with my daughter Melissa:
for the first time when I married Greg! Our first duty station was Newport, RI which is our fondest duty station! We met some of the best friends we ever had while stationed there! (You know who you are (o: ) We also had our first son, Gregory Jr.:
While stationed there, Greg went off on a 5 month deployment and we got hit with Hurricane Bob! The first and only hurricane I ever experienced! After that experience, I became the "Queen" of hurricane readiness!
Next, we were off to Virginia! We were stationed at Little Creek in Virginia Beach....There we gave birth to our second son, Clint:
Clint (aka: CJ)was born 5-1/2 weeks premature, with no problems and was sent home with me! When he was 13 days old, I noticed that he was yellow and we took him to the hospital. He spent 3 days at Virginia Beach General, while they kept him under the lights for "jaundice". On the third day, a Hemotologist Specialist was called in because Clint was not getting any better. Immediately, he was rushed to Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughter, where he spent the first 2-1/2 months of his life in and out of there. After all his blood tests came back negative, which took weeks, he was finally diagnosed with "Infantile Pyknosytosis" (I can't remember how to spell that!) which is a very rare blood disorder. (If anyone has any information on this blood disorder, please EMAIL ME) We thank God everyday for our Clint who is healthy today and shows no symptoms of what he went through! We also thank everyone all over the country that prayed for our little boy and our family! After going through this experience, I became closer to God and I truely believe in the Power Of Prayer!
Our next duty station was Mayport, FL! I wasn't too happy about going to Florida, but it became home in no time at all! As the saying goes: "Home is where the Navy sends you"! There we gave birth to our third son, Matthew:
Matthew had a 50% chance of being born with the same blood disorder as Clint. Thankfully, he was born healthy!
I was a single mom raising Melissa and I missed a lot of her growing up because I had to work but now I'm a "Stay At Home Mom" and loving every minute of it!
Greg and I involved our family in sports for the past 5 years and we coached and assisted every youth sport that our Base offered! (Baseball (all levels), soccer, basketball, bowling and Greg even coached Ladies Softball LOL)!!
We also were licensed Child Care Providers on our Base for almost 3 years! We were Blessed to meet some really GREAT and DEAR friends (and they all have computers, so we can keep in touch) (o:! We LOVE and MISS you all!!
