NOTE
UPDATE ON REV. SMITH OF WHOM WE PRAYED THAT HAD BOTH KNEE REPLACEMENTS LAST WEEK.

To: Jsattele

Hi this is Wayne just a note to let you know how my father is doing. He is doing real well with his therapy they said. He is bending his knee up to 75% and they are real pleased with that. The doctor said today that if he continues as good as he is doing now that he may be able to come home by the middle of next week. Thanks for all of your prayers and concern i truly appreciate it. God Bless you in your work. Your friend always Wayne

Thank you guys for all your prayers!
You are a great bunch!

And one more before we go any further: This one touched my heart tremendously and when you read you will understand why. All the mail I receive blesses me in many, many ways but there are some that just stand out and need to be shared, especially when there is a "life" involved.

To: Jsattele

HI,

I just wanted to tell you thank you for the great Happy Thoughts email again. I want to tell you what you have done.....I have a friend who was very suicidal ... he was very very close to doing something crazy. I sent him one of your little sayings and he absolutely loved it. It made him stop and think....he is now getting the help he needs. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know this.....thank you so much for the beautiful work that
you do. You are an angel.

Janice...of course you may use this....it is amazing how one person can affect another person's entire life without ever knowing it. That is why I told you. You should be proud.... Jenna

TOFU

A well-dressed man approached a woman at a Gotham health food store
and in a clipped British accent asked her exactly what she did with
the tofu in her basket. She said she normally puts it in the
refrigerator, looks at it for several weeks and then throws it away.
The man replied: "That's exactly what my wife does with it. I was
hoping you had a better recipe."

ENDINGS

The end of love
Only arrives
If there is no beginning

An end of a circle
Can only be broken
By a break
One made by fate

The end of a kiss
Can not be felt
Only remembered
Only missed

The end of a heartbreak
Only mends
When the pain
Is overlaid
by the hands of love
interlaced again

The end of a legend
Can only be erased
Through the eyes
Of one star

The words sung at
The end of a song
Can not be heard
Only surrounded
With the echo
Of sweet words

After being with her all evening, the man couldn't take
another minute with his blind date. Earlier, he had secretly
arranged to have a friend call him to the phone so he would
have an excuse to leave if something like this happened.
When he returned to the table, he lowered his eyes,
put on a grim expression and said, "I have some bad news.
My grandfather just died."

"Thank goodness," his date replied. "If yours hadn't, mine would
have had to."

CRUISING IT UP!

The children and grand children of an elderly Jewish woman decided to
send grandma on a cruise. Grandma boarded the ship and showed her ticket
to the purser. He looked at it and said, "Oh, I see you have U.D." She
replied, "U.D.? Voos is U.D.? He said, "U.D. is Upper Deck." She then
went to the upper deck and showed her ticket to the purser there and he
said, "I see, that in addition to U.D., you also have O.C." Grandma
replied, "O.C.? Voos is O.C.?" The purser said, "O.C. is Outside
Cabin." Grandma, needless to say, was delighted. She then showed her
ticket to the cabin boy and he said, "Oh, I see that you also have
B.I.B." "B.I.B.? Voos is B.I.B.?" asked grandma. The cabin boy answered,
"B.I.B. is Breakfast In Bed." "Oh" she said; "Mine children and
grandchildren are vonderful." Well, the next morning, bright and early,
the staff came right into her room with trays of food for her Breakfast
In Bed and she said, "F.Y.C.K" Shocked, they said, "F.Y.C.K? What do you
mean F.Y.C.K.?", to which she replied, "Yes, F.Y.C.K. First You Could
Knock!"

THOUGHTS

In universal terms.....
we are here on this earth
for only a second....

and the quality of our lives
during that second
will be determined
by how we treat each other.

Some choose to spend their
lives making money.
Some choose to spend their
time fighting.....
while others merely
waste it away.

I have chosen to live my life
loving you.....
and loving you..
is the easiest...
and the smartest thing...
I have ever done.

QUOTE
OF THE DAY

'Tis not enough to help the feeble up,
but to support them after.
-William Shakespeare

WORDS OF WISDOM

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they
were meant to be there; they serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson
or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know
who these people may be; your roommate, neighbor, professor, long-lost
friend, lover or even a complete stranger who, when you lock eyes with
them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some
profound way.

Sometimes things happen to you and at the time they may seem horrible,
painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming
those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength,
willpower or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by
chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost
moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits
of your soul. Without these small tests - whether they are events,
illnesses or relationships - life would be like a smoothly paved, straight,
flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly
pointless. The people you meet who affect your life, and the successes and
downfalls you experience, create who you are; even the bad experiences can
be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and
important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them, for
they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious
to whom you open your heart to. If someone loves you, love them back
unconditionally; not only because they love you, but because they are
teaching you to love, and they are opening your heart and eyes to things
you would have never seen or felt without them.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything
that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.
Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let
yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold your head
up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great
individual and believe in yourself; for if you don't believe in yourself,
no one else will believe in you, either. You can make of your life
anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

PUTER TIPS

This was in the newsletter about a month ago but having request for it so
thought I would put it in again for all to see . . . we have a lot of new people
and maybe some beginners who aren't aware of these things.
Because this is long, I put it in small print but if it is hard for you to read, simply
copy and paste into a new email and enlarge the print there.

SUGGESTED WEEKLY PUTER MAINTENCE...

If not weekly....MONTHLY...AT LEAST...

First goal is to rid your computer of all unnecessary files that have collected since your last maintence...They slow down your computer and AOL radically, and take up space that
you want for other purposes....

1. AOL has a cache for graphics...emptying it is a simply process. Its slightly different on 3.0 and 4.0 ...but the general idea is the same...So if you can't adapt these 4.0 instructions ...let me know.

On 4.0 you go to MY AOL...on 3.0 you go to Members.then click on Preferences, and then Graphics...
You will see a setting that says maximum disc space to be used store graphics..usually its set at 20 or 30. Change the setting to 1. Then Sign off...After signing off you must totally close down your AOL screen by clicking on the little X on the top right of the screen. You will notice that AOL then does a two second procedure....that in effect is emptying all the graphics from that file. Sign back on
and reset that number. I keep it at 9 and I find that its sufficient and leaves me more space on my computerfor other things.

2. Everytime you go to the internet your computer stores some of the files...and you don't need them. Sooooo at least once a week I purge them from my puter..There are several ways to accomplish this..but the one I personally prefer, happens to work for 3.0 and 4.0.

Click on Start (bottom left) and then Programs and then click on Windows Explorer. When it opens
you are looking at the files and folders that your entire computer maintains.

If you read down the folders...near the end is one marked Windows...Click on Windows, and work your way down first open the folder marked cookies. Cookies are stored in your computer by various sites to gather information about your computer use that is NONE of their business. GO to EDIT..on the top of the tool bar. Choose SELECT ALL which will highlight all the cookies in your file. THen click on
FILE(top left of your tool bar) and choose delete. This will send all of these cookies to your recycle bin.

Now continue to work your way down the windows files and you will find one marked History. It holds the history for every site you have visited. Click on it...and then follow the same procedure
as above. Go to EDIT ...choose SELECT ALL, then go to FILE and choose DELETE. This will send them all to your recycle bin. Some things can simply delete through your computer, without showing up in your recycle bin....but most will arrive there.

Now continue to work your way down the windows file and you will find one marked Temporary Internet Files. This folder, for some odd reason, saves bits and pieces of every site you have visited. Follow the same procedure. Go to Edit...choose SELECT ALL, then go to FILE and choose DELETE.

Almost immediately above this file, is something simply called temp. or temp files in some computers...Many functions you perform on your computer save files here temporarily.
You don't need them and they waste valuable space and slow up your computer. I delete EVERYTHING in this folder. Some people ONLY delete files that begin with ~*temp.
I have used this computer for six years...and nothing has ever happened by deleting
everything in that folder...other than creating more space and speed....

Now you can click on the icon that shows your recycle bin....and empty your recycle bin.
Until you do that...all of these files are still taking up space in your computer. Some people find it reassuring to wait a day or do and be sure that their computer is operating well, without
all the stuff they deleted, at least for the first few times you go thru this
process it probably isn't a bad idea....

Now you are ready to cleanse your AOL folders..

Open your PFC, Personal File Cabinet. Check to see if you have files that say Mail You've Sent and Mail you've Recieved. People are often shocked to find MONTHS worth of mail clogging and slowing their aol functions in these files. I have my mail set up so it doesn;t even store them there.
But ....if you do have them..delete them all.unless there is something special you are saving. These files take up loads of space on AOL and seriously slow down your AOL usage.

Next Clean out your favorite places of things you don't use or want anymore...You know....that cute site that you never go to anymore. . .delete it..

Go to your Mail center and click on Old Mail..or Mail you have read. These files also seriously slow down your AOL usage.. I delete them daily...but weekly should do it.....the same is true for
Mail you've sent...DELETE DELETE DELETE.

If you store MANY MANY Favorite Places...try putting them all into ONE email..and mailing it to yourself...Then save that ONE email in your favorite places..THAT saves an enormous amount of space and also speeds up your computer use.

When you have cleaned out your PFC look on the bottom tool bar of that file and click on Compact PFC. This maximizes the space you have in that file...and makes it less likely that you will
lose your favorite places or flash mail....always a huge pain!!!!

When all of this is completed...and although it sounds time consuming, after doing it several times you will find it takes less than 10 min.. Sign off AOL, and close down all the programs you have open.

Its time now to do the Major Maintenance for your Puter.

SCANDISK

Before running this process...disable your screensaver or it will continually interrupt the process. THEN... Click on Start, then Run, then Run SCANDISK. or.....Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Scandisk. Click to run it..It will give you a prompt to choose which drive.
First I do drive C...and when that's complete I do drive D.

THIs process takes about 20 minutes for each drive...So grab a cup of coffee. What this does is check your disk from end to end..and look for errors on your disk...and
AUTOMATICALLY FIXES THEM!!!! WHAT COULD BE BETTER.

DEFRAGMENTER

When that is complete.....you have ONE step left. Each time you use a file your computer doesn';t always put it back where it got it...lol..I know..sounds wierd,,but its true...
So the inner file system on the disk gets cluttered and slows down your computer.

GO to Start, Programs, Accessories, System TOOLS, DISK DEFRAGMENTER. when you Click on it.....it will give you a prompt to choose which drive you want to defragment.
I choose C and when its done...D.

Each drive takes about 10 minutes....and is actually interesting to watch the process ....soooooo once it gets started it will give you an option to watch the process, or follow the details, choose it once, and
watch what happens....you can see the files being read, and reordered to maximize your disc space and create both more space and more speed.

When this is completed for both drives...You have successfully "tuned up" your computer to maximize its space and speed. I do this once a week...I do some of the processes that take time,
while i'm showering...or eating breakfast..LOL....so its not as if I feel the time is a waste ....

You'll be amazed at the difference in the performance of your computer and of the speed of AOL after you've done this..

BUT EVEN MORE IMPORTANT...you will have minimized the risk for future problems with your computer if you do this on a regular basis.

AGAIN...I AM NOT A TECHIE....I LEARNED THIS THROUGH The kindness of others on online who gave me this information piecemeal.....I suggest you print out this sheet and save it..
so that you can read it as you're doing it for the first few times.

This guy loved living in Staten Island, but he wasn't crazy about the
ferry. If you missed a ferry late at night, you had to spend the next hour
or so wandering the deserted streets of lower Manhattan.

So, when he spotted a ferry no more than fifteen feet from the dock, he
decided he wouldn't subject himself to an hour's wait. He made a running
leap and landed on his hands and knees, a little bruised maybe, but safe on
deck.

He got up, brushed himself off, and announced proudly to a bystander,
"Well, I made that one, didn't I?"

"Sure did," the bystander said. "But you should have waited a minute or
two. The ferry is just about to dock."

Time was short but the visit was lovely,
thanks for your time today . . . see you back here again tomorrow about this same time.

Go forth now and make this day count. Make every second a blessing to someone and be good to yourself, too.

Be happy and tell your face!
Keep a smile on your face at all times and if you should see someone without
a smile . . . give them yours.

Love like you've never loved before,
and let yourself be loved, as well.

Dance the dance!

We are discovering that happy people live longer and are healthier.
So . . . let's stay happy, healthy and alive!
