Benjamin Jones


BENJAMIN JONES was born on October 14, 1862 in Market Drayton, Shropshire, England, the son of William Jones. He married Alice Rebecca Fletcher who was born about 1863. They had 3 children. Rebecca died on November 30, 1893 at Red Street, Chesterton, Staffordshire, England.

Children of Benjamin and Alice Rebecca were:

Benjamin E. born April 21, 1891 at Red Street, England. Benjamin married Anna Mabel Riddle, daughter of Isaiah and Harriet Brassington Riddle. Anna was born on September 7, 1895 in Syracuse, NY. Benjamin died in East Liverpool, Ohio on December 27, 1948 and is buried in Riverview Cemetery, East Liverpool. Anna died on December 28, 1967 in East Liverpool, Ohio and is buried in Riverview Cemetery, East Liverpool. They had only one daughter, Ruth Elizabeth who was born on February 27, 1918 in East Liverpool, Ohio. Ruth died in Pittsburgh, PA on August 3, 1978 and is buried in Riverview Cemetery.

Harry born January 10, 1889 in Red Street, Staffordshire, England. He died on November 9, 1936. Harry married a woman named Mary A. ? and I have no further information on this son.

John William born May 22, 1884 in Red Street, Staffordshire, England. I have no farther information on this son.

Rose Ellen born November 17, 1886 in Market Drayton, Shropshire, England. She married Thomas Edward Evans born May 21, 1889 in Ironbridge, Shropshire, England. Rose died in Pittsburgh, PA and is buried in the Riverview Cemetery, East Liverpool, Ohio. Thomas died on June 7, 1961 in Ravenswood, WV. He is buried at Ravenswood Cemetery. They had the following children:

William Thomas Sr. born October 30, 1911 in East Liverpool, Ohio and died December 10, 1981 in Windsor, Ohio. He married Ann Catherine Sokalski in Pittsburgh, PA in 1933. Ann is still living.

The second wife of Benjamin Jones was Elizabeth Bradbury who was born on January 12, 1860 in Hannley, Staffordshire, England. Elizabeth died on August 26, 1956 at the Gibbs Nursing Home in Wellsville, Ohio.

Benjamin came to the United States in 1907 with Rose Ellen and Harry. John William did not come with them. Benjamin E. followed his father's footsteps in 1915. Many of the early dates here are taken from the naturalization applications of Benjamin and Benjamin E. Jones.
