Welcome, friends, family, and neighbors.

(a continuing work-in-progress...)

My first (minor) California earthquake happened at
3:51AM Sat. morning 12/13/1997. Felt as if someone was
standing at the foot of the bed, shaking it back and forth.
I leapt out of bed, fully awake, sensing right away what
it was. My across-the-street neighbor told me, "It was a
different sort of shaking than we usually get." Usually??

Life in California is new to us. After nearly six months
doing bi-coastal parenting, the kids and I moved here this summer
from New York where I'd lived for 17 years, to join Charlie.
Having lived all my life in the corridor between Washington, DC, and
Westchester County, NY, it has been quite an adjustment to move west.
Be sure to visit my "moving thoughts" page for some comparisons
and some very interesting links.

Everyone needs their "favorite stuff" links:

Charlie's work page, wonderfully dense technical stuff.

My cuddling family, watching a video late on Christmas evening.

Aw right, Dad! Grandpop's page was inspired by his grandsons' interest, I think.
And I strongly recommend his World War II Eighth Air Force page.
First-hand accounts from someone who knows what it was like.

I love my kids. They now have their own
home pages which can be viewed from the kids page.

Things I know a lot about, or am impressed by or fond of:

Things are changing regularly, just like in real life. Stay tuned...

 (yours truly)
