Welcome to my Winter Retreat

Beachgram is at Home

This page is still under construction, much like the person writing it. At my young age of 53, I feel I am still learning and growing - for example, only a few years ago I was delighted just to be able to word process a letter on an Apple IIe using Appleworks! This project began as a challenge and now seems to have grown into an addiction. Visit me often, leave me a comment, let me visit your site.
ENJOY!

Now this is my idea of life at it's finest - sun, sea, and shellseeking!

But, as much as I'd like to believe the saying, "Life is a beach", there is, unfortunately, life after the beach and that glorious, lazy summer sun. So I invite you to take a peek into what life is like with and without my beach.

"Some people come into our lives and quietly go;
Others stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts
And we are never quite the same."

This is one of my favorite quotes because of its simplicity and truthfulness. I feel very blessed to have met so many people in my life who have left their footprints on my heart. It would be impossible to include them all, but I will endeavor to incorporate those most near and dear as I build my "home".

You Ought To Be In Pictures

"Life is what's happening while we're busy making other plans".
- John Lennon

I think that at times we are all guilty of letting life pass us by while we are worried about what happened yesterday or all the "what ifs" of the tomorrows to come. I'm afraid I allowed many precious moments to elude me as my children were growing up and having realized this, I am determined to not miss out on the latest and greatest, events of my life.

"Man's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions."
- Oliver Wendell Holmes

The times of my life, not consumed by family, and the sound of the ocean, is spent in various and sundry other activities. I am a "jack of all crafts and master of none." The urge to create is so strong that I have a room full of crafts just waiting for the time when I can finish this web page and get to them. During the B.C. years (before computer), I used to be rather good at beginning and finishing my crafts. Now, I get to them when my eyes are too blurry to read the monitor anymore.But, my latest love is scrapbooking.

I am now in my 29th year of teaching - and getting a mindset that is looking forward to retiring. I have also been an active participant in our Community Theater for the past 16 years and many more civic and social activities. I believe in supporting the community and county in which I live - you know, kind of giving back for all the good things that I've received. Won't you take a look at theOther times in my life?
