~ Home Is Where My Heart Is ~
Hi, come on in and I'll tell you a little about
my family and myself.
We live in
Jacksonville, Florida, home
of the NFL team the Jaguars. Our town
has really shown great team spirit. We are proud of you Jaguars!
"The Bold New City Of The
South" is Jacksonville's motto. We moved here in
1966, it sure has
grown alot since then. We reached a population of
over one
million in 1998.
I'm so lucky to have most of my family
living here in Florida. All of my children and their families live here. My Dad and my 2 sisters and all of their families live here too. We lost my Mom to heart failure in 1997.
My
Dad was in the Navy for 30 years. Which of course means we
moved around alot. Yes, I was a Navy brat but I saw alot of the United
States,
coast to coast. You can learn alot about life growing up in a
military family. I have lived in Illinois,
Virginia, South Carolina, California, Rhode Island,
Missouri, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida.
I was born in Greensburg, Indiana. I still have relatives living there. I
guess
that makes me a transplanted Hoosier...I don't think anybody is ever born in
Florida...we all came here from somewhere else!
~ My Children and Grandchildren ~
I
am the proud Mother of 3 grown and married children and Grandmother to 4 beautiful little children.

beautiful,
sweet granddaughter Erika, who is 13...going on

She is very creative and likes anything to do with
art.
~ Jack Kelly Alex and Sammy ~
Jack is my
youngest child. He is married to Kelly. They are the proud parents of our two handsome Grandsons.
Alex, who is 15 and Sammy who is 5 aready.
Alex loves trains, baseball, surfing, playstation games and Nascar racing. He is getting to be quite the surfer, hitting the waves with his Dad whenever he can. He wants to be a Forest Ranger or Park Ranger or join the Navy. He is a 10th grader. He loves to play baseball. Alex is a big fan and collector of Baseball cards.
Our newest Grandson Samuel was born 9 weeks early and had to stay 26 days in the hospital. He is doing really well and is in kindergarten this year. He is such a joy.
I'am so
blessed to have such wonderful
children and grandchildren...They bring such joy to
my life. I am very proud of all of them.
My oldest Grandchild Alex started callng me Nanny
when he first learned to talk. Now everyone calls me
Nanny!! Even the adults, but I don't mind...I like it!
The Rest Of The Family
~ "My Officer and A Gentleman" ~
In 1990 I met a
wonderful gentleman named Les. He is a retired Naval Officer and has retired from the U.S. Postal Service We have truly become
best
friends and soulmates. He became my "Knight in
Shinning
Armor!" and the LOVE of my life. We have retired and are growing old together.
Les
has
a son Jim who lives here in Jacksonville. (Jim is a 11 year Cancer survivor.) He has 3 beautful
daughters. Kayla 18 and Karly 16 who live in S.C,
with their Mother. (We sure do miss them) and Tabitha 22, who is married to Daniel, they live here in Jacksonville. They have a beautiful baby girl Abbigail. She is our first Great-Granddaughter. She will soon be one Where does the time go?
Les also has a daughter Tina, whois married to Shane they live in Texas. They train show horses and manage a horse farm.
We have alot of members in our family. Holidays are a very special time. We all get together have lots of fun, share good food, but most of all share alot of LOVE.
My Grandchildren are
the
most precious thing to me in the whole world. I
attended
all of their births and witnessed one of God's
most
wonderful miracles.
Grandchildren are God's reward
for
growing old. I have always liked the old saying "If I
had
known grandchildren would be so much fun I would of
had
them first, when I was
younger." This is so true it's hard to keep up with
them sometimes, but I love it!
~ Our Family Pets ~
I'd also like to
tell
you
all
about our 4-legged little ones..We have a 12 year old
Golden Retriever named~ Bunny ~
We got her when she was 7 months old. She loves
to
play fetch and play under the sprinkler. If you want
a gentle, sweet, kind, smart
and loyal playmate for your kids, this is the breed
to get.
All of the kids just love her and she guards them
with her
life. She is a great watchdog too!
April 6,2004 UpDate: It is with heavy heart that I tell you some sad news, our beloved family dog "BUNNY" passed over the Rainbow Bridge to Heaven. She died very peacefully. She had a long life filled with loving care. We will always miss her, and treasure her memory. Bunny was a friend and faithful companion to all who knew her. She was a big part of our lives for 12 years. (Sweet Dreams Honey-Buns)
~ Zack ~
He's our 14 year old
Himalayian cat. We got him when he was 5 months old. He is the most loving and sweetest cat you could ever want. He's a big
boy at about 15 pounds. He is a flame point, cream
with
orange tipped tail, ears, and paws. He likes to sit
in my
lap with my Web TV keyboard and help me
type. So if you see any typos they are all
his...lol
~ Abby ~
