Lord, I pray for my friend, David, who is hurting today. Lord, he says he has prayed so long and is now discouraged.
Lord, You are so faithful in helping us when we call upon You. Lord, You have ever answered my prayers in healing me when I was sick with cancer and the doctors said that I only had 2-3 months to live. It was not an instant healing as many seem to think that it should be; but, Lord, you did heal me, even if there was not any outward sign for many years.
You let me live!!! You held me up!!! You gave me strength when I couldn't hold my head up as we went down the highway, traveling where-ever you sent us. I could not walk, but you lifted me up as I prayed daily. I did not pray for tomorrow, I prayed for "today!" Lord, you sustained me day by day!!!
The next morning I was still alive--2 months--3 months--6 months--finally, a year--then 2 years (with the cancer cells still in my body and now my thyroid was going crazy because of the radiation. But, that was better than it settling in my bones as I had read in the hospital where I was taking the treatments. It was easier to treat as I couldn't stand any more radiation--they could remove it later. Soon, I could not swallow anything and I had ballooned because of the thyroid being affected. Still, You held my hand and walked with me each and every day.
Lord, You had told me that if I would do what you said for me to do in James [5:14-16: Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (KJV)] that You would heal me.
Lord, I could do nothing but hold on to that promise. In the darkest days, I could not pray; but I could believe. I could not stand; but I could believe!!! I could not see the outward signs; but I could believe!!! When it seemed that all was going wrong, Lord, I could only hold onto your promise and believe. It did not look as though I was healed; but I was being healed each and every day!!! Lord, I praise You, for You have been faithful to Your word to me and in your Book.
Lord, it is no harder to heal my friend, David, than it was for You to heal me. Lord, I was sick and You healed me. Lord, David has asked for healing in his mind and soul and body to overcome this sickness. Lord, heal him as You did me.
Lord, if he has committed sins, Lord, I ask You to forgive him of those sins, cleanse him, mind, soul and body and fill him with your Holy Spirit so that he will have Your power to live a life that is acceptable to You and to himself and be restored to walk anew in You.
Lord, take away any guilt as he confesses his sins to You. Brng peace to his mind and soul and let him know that You have heard and are answering his prayer for healing from this sickness.
I thank you, Lord, for his reaching out to Your church for prayer for his healing. Lord, he says he can hardly pray now as he has suffered so long. Lord, I couldn't pray either when I had cancer, Lord; but I could hold onto your Word; and I would repeat over and over every day: "The Lord's in His temple and all is right with my world!!!"
Lord, you are still in Your temple and all is right with mine and David's world!!! Lord, I know and believe that You are going to touch David and heal him right now! Lord, he loves you and wants to continue to serve you and to raise his little baby.
Lord, I know what that is like, for I felt the same way when they said that I would not live to raise my two children that you had given me through your miracles. Lord, You raised me up out of my bed of affliction and I know that you will David as well. Lord, you love David and want the best for him. Lord, I praise You for Your grace and mercy to us and Your loving kindness to me and to my friend David.

We ask all these things in Your name.

Be encouraged my friend. Jesus loves you and will give you the strength to overcome all these things that would hinder you in your walk with Him and your service to Him.
Have you been filled with His Holy Spirit? If not, then pray: "Fill me with your Holy Spirit today and help me overcome all the evil that has entered to affict my soul and body. I believe that You are the Healer and can heal me and that You will and that you will fill me with your Holy Spirit and His power!!! Thank you, Jesus, for healing me and giving me the power to overcome this disease and sickness!!!
