Dan Gutman seems to be a writer worth taking a good look at. The writer of children's sports books (i.e.Honus and Me, Jackie and Me). I just ran into this site and find it a great inspiration. He even goes as far as posting his rejection letters for the book (Homus and Me) that became nominated for several awards and has had the movie rights purchased for it.
