Hi everyone and welcome to my homepage. Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Joann and I have been married 31 years to my wonderful husband Jerry. We have one beautiful daughter Angela, a terrific son-in-law named David and five good looking grandchildren. I will talk more about each of them later, so please follow the links below.

I work as a Risk Specialist for a Ethics and Compliance Hotline reporting company. I feel very blessed to have this job, I truly enjoy going to work each day. This is my dream job and I am fortunate to work with a wonderful, intelligent, caring group of people. My company provides 24/7 hotline reporting, whistleblower type reporting, as well as ethics, compliance, Sarbanes Oxley accounting and HIPAA compliance reporting. We have a focus on the healthcare industry, but with ethics and compliance needs growing in all forms of business we growing tremendously.

Prior to working as a Risk Specialist I was a night manager at a local hotel. Although this job was not as rewarding as my current job, it was none the less a very interesting After working at the hotel for two years I became a little frightened when several hotels in my area were robbed late at night. This is when I decided it was time for a career change.

Until I joined the hotel staff I was employed as a Bakery Deli manager for 12 years or so in a major grocery store chain called Food Lion. I really enjoy this type of work but unfortunately I injured my back on the job and I have not been able to do this type of work since then. I also developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from cake decorating, which required surgery on both my hands.

I am a trained second hand bench baker. I completed my baking apprenticeship in St. Louis, Missouri, while working at a Central Baking plant for a large upscale grocery store chain called Dierbergs. I am also certified as a cake decorator, in both basic and advanced cake decorating. I still love to bake and decorate cakes, but I primarily make cakes for family and friends now. I occasionally get the opportunity to decorate a wedding cake for a friend or family member. I worked in the food service industry for 19 years.


I really enjoy reading, and doing all types of crafts, from crochet, counted cross-stitch, to making flower arrangements. I am a very family oriented person, as you will see in my pages. To view pictures and learn more about each of us, follow the Family link below.

My husband and I care for four dogs and twice as many cats, although all of them live outside except for my little terrier dog Sasha, We love them all just like family members, and they each have their own personality, To learn more about some of the pets we have owned, click on the Pets link below.

Over the past several years I began collecting porcelain dolls. I also collect Teddy Bears and I have built several of my own bears at Build A Bear.
