These
pages are devoted
to the members of both Jerry's and my family who
are no
longer with us. Although they are gone from our
daily lives, they will forever be in our
hearts and minds. Their memories will
remain alive inside each of us forever.
My
grandparents were
very special to me, they raised me from the time
I was a
small baby, until I met and married my husband
Jerry.
They were already in there 50's when they took me
in! I
know that this must have been a great adjustment
in their
lives, and I will forever be greatful for the
sacrifices
they made to see to it that I had a good home in
which to
grow up in. Because of their ages, I was always
aware
that they may not always be around for me. My
grandmother
was a very dominate person in my life. She could
also be
a very loving person! Thanksgiving of 1977 will
always be
sad for me. That day my grandmother was supposed
to come
to my home for dinner. My very first holiday
dinner held
at my home. I was very excited, because I wanted
everything to be special, and to prove that I was
not
just a married woman now, but also an adult! When
she
didn't call me early as we had planned, I phoned
her,
only to find out that she had been rushed to the
hospital
with an apparent stroke. I spent the next week at
my
grandmothers bedside. She lost her battle on
December
3,1977, her 67 th birthday. The next several
weeks and
beyond left me feeling numb. Aside from my
husband, and 2
year old daughter Angela, she was the most
important
person in my life! She was also the first person
that I
lost. I still think of her daily, and wonder what
she
would think of my life. I like to think that she
would be
proud of me!
