Going Home
After breakfast, Mommy started picking things up and putting them away. She said it was time to leave the only home I ever knew. But she assured me I'd like the next place even better. I was so excited I slept! Daddy came for us around 9:30 that morning. A nice lady put mommy in a wheelchair, and placed me in her arms. Then she took us on a ride through the hospital. Just outside the door, Daddy was waiting with the video camera. Mommy once again was crying the whole time. He put me in a seat in the back, and helped Mommy into the front, but we didn't go straight home. We stopped at Daddy's work and I was shown off to lots of people. We also had to pose with this sign. I slept through all of this, even though the air was warm, and the sun was shining. Daddy said it was really hot the whole time we were in the hospital, but it was a perfect day to bring home his perfect baby.
Then we went home, but it was six hours later that I opened my eyes and noticed I was in a different place. Granted, I couldn't see too well then, but I could tell that things were different. I tried to focus, but really could not.
I promise to have pictures from my trip home posted really soon. Mommy has to use a special contraption to capture the images from the videotape. I'll have her get still images of my leaving the hospital, and coming in the house for the first time.
