In the Hospital
Mom wasn't very happy the next morning. Something having to do with a clear liquids diet. She got lime jello (she doesn't like jello, if you can believe that!), chicken broth, and decaffeinated hot tea. Daddy spent most of the morning with us, then he went to work.
The doctor said I lost 4 ounces, but that was normal. The nurses gave me the first hepatitis shot....ask mommy, I didn't even cry!
Today I met Aunt Debbie, Uncle Bill, and my cousins, Mark and Erik. Lunch wasn't much different: orange jello, beef broth, tea, rice pudding, and a root beer popsicle. I decided I needed feeding just when mommy unwrapped that popsicle. She finally got to eat it after dinner! Later in the day, Grandpa brought his oldest granddaughter to meet the youngest, me! And the pastor of the church also dropped by. That evening, after daddy came back, Aunt Lyn brought her oldest daughter in. Then I was visited by my adopted family....Uncle Bob, mom and dad's best friend, and his mother, one of my grandmas! When daddy went home, it was time for mommy and me to settle down for another long night. I held mommy most of the night, but she didn't sleep much more than last night. She must really be sore.

Daddy arrived really early today. Mommy had dozed off, and I was asleep. Mommy didn't stay asleep long! She also got "real" food for her meals today, so she was ecstatic!
Today I met daddy's cousin Marilyn......how is she related to me? I'll figure that out some day!
That evening another honorary aunt, Vicky, dropped by. She took the picture of me that is on the front page, as well as this one of mommy and daddy. (Daddy looks exhausted; just who gave birth to me anyway?)
