Week Two

Mommy and Daddy took me to church today, where Hazel took this nice picture of me. Everyone really made a fuss over me! During church, I was in the nursery sleeping, while mommy and daddy sang in the choir. I could hear them, because the service is piped in to the nursery. Right after the choir sang their anthem, mommy came running over to the nursery, so I comforted her, explaining in my own way that she doesn't have to worry. Sometimes we have to be separated, but that she'll be ok.

This was the beginning of a rough week for mommy. We went to the doctor so she could get a contraceptive injection, depo-provera. Aunt Debbie ended up spending the afternoon with me as Grandpa rushed mommy to the emergency room. She had a bad reaction to the shot. Severe asthma attack, blood pressure of 80/40, and convulsions. She was feeling better that evening, and then another setback. All of mommy's joints swelled up, making movement very painful. The swelling lasted two days. I slep on the sofa with her, to help her avoid movement. Besides, she was so slow, I could have starved waiting for her!

Mommy's feeling much better now, so she and daddy took me to my first picnic at a friend's house. Too many people for me, I went to sleep. An acquaintance named Kim held me for a very long time. She's having her own little one early next year. Then we went home and sat outside to watch fireworks. Well, I couldn't see them, but mommy and daddy seemed amused.

Miscellaneous
Cards and gifts are still coming in! Some from people mommy would never expected to hear from. She wants to put up a big thank you page to all these people. It'll be here eventually!
