Sanford ROWLAND was born in Lee Co., VA, and died in Booneville, KY.  He married Catherine WADDELL  in VA, d/o Martin WADDELL and ?Martha.

Andrew Patterson ROWLAND, born in Owsley Co., KY,   He married (1) Priscilla Adkins. He married (2) Rebecca A. HOBBS Abt. 1870.

John Douglas ROWLAND was born in Owsley, KY, and died in Hamilton, Butler, OH. He married Callie EVANS d/o Jessie EVANS and Elizabeth "Lizzie" HALL.

Hubert James ROWLAND, Sr., was born in Wolfe, KY, and died in  Hamilton, Butler, OH.  He married Nellie Rosy BRANDENBURG in Beattyville, Lee, KY, d/o of Marion BRANDENBURG and Clarinda HALCOMB. These are my Grandparents.

Don Koontz

She married Leonard Emmert.  He was born about 1770. They lived in Maryland.

One of their children was Elizabeth Emmert born Feb, 13, 1811, died in 1887.  She married Peter Fahrney Jr.

Would be great to hear from anyone who can add to this.

Ellen Sneed

I am looking for information on Matthew Rowland, born in the late 1700's, possibly in North Carolina.  He married a woman named Elizabeth.  Matthew was living in Lee Co., VA in 1810 along with 2 of his brothers (George and Doudle).  Matthew then moved to Cocke Co., TN.  By 1818, he was living in Ray Co., MO. 

My line back to Matthew is:  Ellen Soule (me) > Noel Soule > Daisy Rowland > David G. Rowland > Charles Rowland > Matthew Rowland.

Several people have been working on this line and none of us have been able to find Matthew's parents' names or where and when he was born.  Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

William ROWLAND married Margaret O. SMITH on 18 April 1882 in Fulton county, Illinois. 

They had the following children: Herman Rike ROWLAND Hettie ROWLAND HUGHES Keith ROWLAND Page Rice ROWLAND
I believe all were born in Fulton county, IL.  They came to Oregon before the 1900 census and moved to Idaho after the 1910 Oregon census. I have found a William on Fulton County 1880 & 1870 census, but I am not sure if this is the correct William ROWLAND.

Darla Rowland Standridge

I am looking for a James T. or E. ROWLAND (born in IND) and his wife, Hannah, that lived in Mo around 1878.  They had a son by the name of James that was born in Mo. about then.

Also looking for a James C. (Calvin) ROWLAND (born in AR).  I believe he was James T. or E.'s nephew.  James C.'s father was called Jack ROWLAND (born in SC or IND) (Jack might not be his actual name just the name he went by).  Jack was hung by bushwhackers at the end of the Civil War.  Don't know Jack wife's name.
If you have any information concerning this line of the ROWLAND family please let me know.  Thanks for your help in advance.

Leonard G. Rowland was born in 1815 in VA (Where and who was his parents?). He married Naomi H. ???? (Who was she?).  They had the following children:

They are listed in the 1840 & 1850 census of Macoupin Co., IL.  When and where did he die?

Mary McCune

I am looking for Frances Roland/Rowland/Rolin who was born in 1822. Census says she was born in TN - Daughter's Bible says VA.  She is listed on some papers as Frances Roland Lee.  In Decatur Co. in 1823, a survey was done for a Joseph Lee and a William Rolen was chain carrier. Does anyone have a Roland /Lee connection?

Frances married in 1846 in Hickman Co. to a Dodson, she married in 1849 in Perry Co. to L. S. Tatum.  She named her 1st son, James and her 2nd son, William.  Any help on this family appreciated.

John Henderson Rowland m. Virgie Sparks.  John's father is Joseph Rowland who married Rebecca Frances Estep.  Both of the above were married in Johnson Co., Ky.  Joseph's father is John Rowland, Jr. who married Margaret Fairchild in Johnson Co., Ky on Dec. 25, 1848. John's father signed the marriage license (I have a copy of it). My records say that John, Jr. was born in Va. and Margaret was born in Ky. John's father was Armstrong Rowland.  He was born in Va and moved to Ky sometime before or in 1848.  I am stuck here. Any information is greatly appreciated.

I have not been able to find any information on Jacob J. Rowland, of Washington Co., Ohio.  I do not know where he was born or where he died.  I only have a copy of his marriage record to Carrie Reed in May, 1888, Decatur Twp., Washington Co., Ohio.

His name is also listed on his children's birth record:  Estella, Jacob Elmer (my great grandfather), Simon, Austin, and Detha.  I have looked in 1880 and 1800 census records, and have found no mention of him in either Washington County or Athens County (borders Decatur Twp.)  If these names sound familiar or if you have any tips as to where to look next, could you please let me know?
I have his son Elmer's obit, and there is no mention of his parents preceding his death.
