My God is a Sovereign God

My God is a Sovereign God. How about yours? I haven't met a Christian who denies that God is sovereign. And yet many, so very many in their preaching and their thinking say that that is not so. What a shame! What a blasphemy! They say that it's God's will but you have a choice. What kind of double-talk is that?? In other words, what they are saying is that God's will only works after you have exercised your so-called "free will". In effect, what they are saying is "let's give glory to ourselves and then perhaps we can give glory to God afterwards".

God is the creator of all things and no creature at anytime is ever or shall ever be outside of the immediate control and influence of the will of this Sovereign God. It must necessarily be this way if we truly believe the Bible to be the Word of God. For the Bible declares in plain and simple language that the Lord does what He pleases. He has created all things, and for His pleasure they are and were created. All things! So that all things that come to pass is ultimately the Will of God.

Let's keep it simple and easy. Let's give all the glory, all the honor, all the praise to God and God alone. And let us just remember that God is God! Otherwise, don't call your god sovereign.
